I've been working with Kristina Grace, of Spirit in Form, to research, design, and launch a web presence for Carrara-based sculptor Robert Gove.

Phase I included researching and designing a website geared toward maximum usability and beauty, with minimal upkeep. We documented a complete inventory of works, dimensions, and locations—as well as both available and desired photos of each.

Phase II was centered on completing the website. With it, we intend to showcase the artist's work and gestalt. Robert is quite the storyteller and has many a tale to share about his decades in Carrara, Italy, as well as time he spent at the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center during its early days. We plan to occasionally include new tales—during the occasional down times when he isn't carving big blocks of marble.

Kristina already had conversations going with various collectors. We’ve created an initial site that bears the immediate needs of those connections in mind. We may reconsider that structure in the next Phase. Its under-the-hood flexibility will be able to accommodate changes to the sit structure once we explore other business cases.

We're pushing Phase III out, but have already laid the foundation for a sustainable social media presence.
